The Yorkshire & Cleveland LGCM Group is an independent group recognised by the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement (LGCM) and as such subscribes to their Statement of Conviction. However, becoming a member of YCLGCM does not make you a member of LGCM or vice versa.

European Forum of Lesbian and Gay Christian Groups

Forum is a growing network of 32 groups from 16 countries (maybe more by now), and the new Forum site is now up and running. Each group sends an official delegate (and sometimes some unofficial ones too!) to the annual Forum meeting. Recent venues have included Edinburgh; Otwock, just outside Warsaw; Basel; and Heemskerk, near Schiphol airport. The 2004 conference took place in Sweden.

Changing Attitude

Changing Attitude is ‘an Anglican organisation open to all whose concern is to work for an emotionally intelligent, compassionate awareness of human sexuality, recognising that any exploration has to begin with ourselves’. They prepared an excellent briefing paper (The Anglican communion and same-sex relationships) for the 1998 Lambeth Conference.

Reluctant Journey

George Hopper’s excellent book Reluctant Journey is now available online. However, you'll probably find it cheaper (considering the phone bill) and easier on the eyes to order a printed copy of the latest edition from the author at: PO Box 5846, Basildon SS15 4GS. Please make cheques and postal orders payable to G. S. E. Hopper. The cost is £3.50 including postage and packing.

Centre for the Study of Christianity and Sexuality

CSCS describes its aims as follows:

‘The Christian community needs a sexual theology which is viable for our age. To build this, we need to find ways of talking to one another; of sharing our experiences in ways which offer both affirmation and challenge. CSCS aims to contribute by providing opportunities for sexuality to be discussed honestly and openly, and to help others working within the churches to provide such opportunities too. We welcome diversity, believing equality to be the vital starting point.’

Young Lesbian and Gay Christians

YLGC is run by LGCM for gay and lesbian Christians aged 30 and under in the UK. They have regular meetings for discussion and socialising.
